Professional profile

Analytical chemistry, from method design to regulated release

I am an analytical chemist working at the point where instrumentation, regulation and product safety meet. My work spans pharmaceutical research and development, quality control in regulated laboratories, and the development, validation and transfer of analytical methods.

Much of it concerns substances that must be measured at trace level, where the question is rarely whether an instrument can produce a number and almost always whether that number can be defended: nitrosamine impurities and NDSRIs in drug products, PFAS in water, residual solvents, pesticides and mycotoxins.

Alongside the science I lead and build laboratory teams: supervising analysts, qualifying instruments, training staff, and conducting analytical investigations when results do not behave as they should.

Notes on the problems that keep recurring

Short technical pieces written for analysts and laboratory managers. The topics below are planned; each will be published here as it is written.

A Publications section will be added only when a verified list of papers, patents, posters or conference contributions is available. Until then this section is titled Technical Insights, which is what it actually is.
